We are an outdoor guiding service with experience in a variety of populations including (but not limited to) private groups, public sign-ups, corporate groups, students, and individuals. Below are a list of some of the trip styles we offer.

hiking

We offer a variety of day trips for different skill levels. Hiking trips are day-long trips where we aim to travel a certain route or reach a certain destination (like the peak of a mountain, or a scenic viewpoint) within one day. These trips vary in distance and difficulty, including everything from a short, relatively flat relaxing walk in the woods, to a challenging uphill traverse.

camping

We define camping trips as adventures where we hike all of our gear out to a designated base camp location, set up camp, and provide options to hike, fish, cook, craft, explore and learn within the surrounding area. These camping trips are often 1-2 night trips and are perfect for beginners who may have gone hiking, but are looking to take the next step into an overnight.

backpacking

Backpacking trips involve carrying all personal gear and group gear on our backs throughout the trip. These trips involve hiking during the day to a planned spot, setting up camp, and in the morning, breaking down camp, packing our backpacks and hiking on to another location. These trips can be anything from one night to a thru-hike of an entire trail. Some backpacking gear may be available to rent, so be sure to reach out before making larger purchases.

Fishing

We offer half day, full day, and multi-day fishing trips using a simple method of fly fishing known as tenkara. This technique is perfect for making delicate presentations to trout in the small mountain streams of our region. With no reel and little line management to worry about, this method is easy to learn and very effective.

If you’d like to get your feet wet without literally getting your feet wet, we also offer tenkara 101 courses, where you can learn to set up a rod, tie basic fishing knots, cast, catch and release fish right in the heart of New York City from Central or Prospect Park. Tenkara 101 or a fly tying session can be added to any fishing trip.
